U.S. EPA and Green Earth Technologies Enter Partnership Agreement Under the Design for the Environment Safer Chemical Initiative

The Partnership Recognizes G-CLEAN, Formulas with Environmentally Preferable Chemistry and Collateral Benefits

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Feb. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Earth Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB: GETG), a leading manufacturer and marketer of "green" environmentally safer consumer packaged goods and products, announced today a partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Design for the Environment (DfE) Program, promoting environmental, technological and efficiency benefits of GET products.  Under the agreement, GET's line of G-CLEAN™ ultimately biodegradable, highly effective, yet safer chemistry products have been recognized by the DfE for its minimized risk to users and to the environment. The G-CLEAN line-up will soon roll out to shelves displaying the DfE logo.  

"The EPA believes that cleaning product formulators can improve the environmental and health profile by using ingredients that are inherently less toxic, less bioaccumulative and that degrade to substances with similar desirable characteristics," said Jeffrey Loch, President and CMO of Green Earth Technologies. "The DfE program sets the bar very high with stringent guidelines and testing criteria before they recognize a product and we are proud to have achieved this prestigious designation, joining them in this admirable effort."

The EPA's DfE label is awarded after the agency's independent research laboratory has screened each ingredient contained in a product and found them to be the safest and greenest among all chemicals in its class. DfE is a voluntary partnership program of the E.P.A. that began in 1992.
