G-OIL® Added to Federal Procurement List

4-Cycle Crankcase Oil With at Least 25% Bio-Based Content to Receive Federal Procurement Preference

CELEBRATION, FL--(Marketwired - Jul 22, 2013) - Green Earth Technologies (OTCQB: GETG), the manufacturer and marketer of G-OIL®, is pleased to announce that G-OIL Bio-based Full Synthetic Motor Oil, which currently displays the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Certified BioPreferred® Product Label, is now identified as a Federal Procurement Preferred Product within the newly created 4-cycle "crankcase" engine oil category. To date, this newly created category has only one listed and commercially available bio-based 4-cycle crankcase oil -- G-OIL.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's BioPreferred program recently finalized its 10th round of procurement regulations, which specify that engine crankcase oil with at least 25% bio-based content will receive federal procurement preference. The new rule is in effect beginning July 11, 2013 and, all Federal agencies and government contractors must ensure their relevant procurement specifications require the use of bio-based engine oils by June 11, 2014.

"We've been focusing on the use of bio-content in our engine oils for years, not only for the environmental benefits they provide, but for the performance levels these 'domestically sourced and made' oils are able to achieve," said Jeffrey Loch, President & CMO of Green Earth Technologies. "G-OIL is the world's first and only API and USDA BioPreferred Certified bio-based motor oil and we are extremely pleased that the USDA BioPreferred program has now added "crankcase" engine oils to the bio-based products procurement list."

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's BioPreferred Product Label verifies that the product's amount of renewable bio-based ingredients meets or exceeds prescribed USDA levels. Bio-based products are goods composed in whole or in significant part of agricultural, forestry or marine materials.

"We are pleased that Green Earth Technologies' G-OIL has earned the USDA Certified Bio-based Product Label and the Federal Procurement Preference designation," said Ron Buckhalt, USDA BioPreferred Program Manager. "Bio-based products provide opportunities to help add value to renewable commodities and create jobs in rural communities."

Consisting of no less than 37% bio-content and available NOW in a variety of weights, including 10W-30, 5W-30 and 5W-20, G-OIL is the world's first and only API and USDA BioPreferred Certified bio-based full synthetic motor oil and is priced comparably to other traditional branded full synthetics. G-OIL is also available in 2-cycle, 4-cycle small engine oil (SAE 30 and 10W-30) and bar & chain oils. These oils are also on the Federal Procurement Preferred Product list and are all displaying the USDA Certified BioPreferred Product Label.

All bio-based amount claims are verified by independent labs and monitored by the USDA. Consumers may feel secure in the accuracy of the bio-based amount and be empowered in making better informed purchasing decisions.
