Green Earth Technologies Adds Three Independent Members to Its Board of Directors

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Green Earth Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:GETG - News), a manufacturer and marketer of environmentally friendly consumer products, today appointed Janet Jankua, Brad Smith and Simon Higgs as independent directors on its board. These appointments bring the total number of directors to five, the majority of which are independent according to the definition used by Nasdaq. Janet Jankua will serve on the compensation committee and Brad Smith and Simon Higgs will serve on the audit/compliance committee.

Biographies of the New Board Members

Janet Jankua, 45, is a Township Trustee in Richfield, Ohio. Previously, she was Chief Human Resource Officer for units of Rockwell Automation and National City Corporation. Previously she chaired the Cleveland Museum of Art Young Friends Board of Directors and was co-founder and trustee for Cleveland Bridge Builders, which supports inter-generational leadership training and succession planning in regional business and civic sectors. Mrs. Jankua received her M.S. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Hartford, Connecticut and subsequently served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer with Top Secret security clearance.

Bradford D. Smith, 49, began his career as a money manager on Wall Street. He founded Atlantic Capital Management, which grew to encompass investment banking and venture capital financing until he sold it in 2006. Mr. Smiths diverse philanthropic board experience includes serving on the Boards of the New York Zoological Society, The Denver Zoo, The Edward John Noble Foundation, The Georgia Conservancy, The Charles Lindbergh Foundation, the Sundance Institute, The Sundance Preserve, Eaglebrook School, and St. Catherines Island Foundation (co-chair). He also accepted a nomination to the Business Council for the United Nations. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Columbia University, and attended the New York Institute of Finance.

Simon Higgs, 41, began his career with the U.K.s Royal Mail, holding several management positions in depot management, transportation logistics, international distribution and contract negotiation over an eight year period. In 1996, Mr. Higgs joined Marken Ltd., a privately held, U.K.-based courier company serving in a number of senior management posts leading up to the number two post of Global Director. During his 10-year tenure with Marken, the company became the market leader in specialist, pharmaceutical transportation before being acquired by Excel plc, the second largest logistics company in the world. Mr. Higgs operational experience spans more than 30 different countries. He now uses this expertise to advise companies seeking to expand internationally.
